Peppermint Swirl Pot Holder

This Cute crochet Pot Holder/ Dish cloth works up super fast, and is easy to make if you can do basic color changes and can crochet a circle.

Materials:
·      
Less than 1 ball of red cotton yarn, less than
one ball of white cotton yarn
·      
H (5.00 mm) crochet Hook
·      
Yarn needle and scissors
Stitches/Abbreviations
·      
Chain: Ch
·      
Double Crochet: DC
·      
Two double crochet in 1 stitch: DC2
·      
Slip stitch: SL

Notes:
·      
Ch 2 at beginning of round does not count as a
stitch;
·      
Carry the color not in use through the work, it
will be on the back and not really visible
·      
Change colors in rounds by picking up the
carried color on the last yarn over of the stitch before the new color start
(see plenty of videos on color changes mid-row on YouTube).  
·      
Stitch counts at end of each round in
parentheses
·      
To get swirl pattern the colors should be offset
by 1 (see chart photo).

Gauge Test: Two rounds = approximately 2.5 inches
Start:
Round 1: Ch 3, in last ch from 12 DC, alternate 2 red and 2
white (you should have 3 sections of each color. Sl to join to top of 1st
DC. (12)
Round 2: ch 2, DC2,in each stitch around, alternate colors
so that the colors are offset by 1 stitch, sl to top of 1st DC (24)
Round 3: Ch. 2, *DC 2, DC in next stitch repeat from *
around, (again alternate colors offset by 1). Sl to top of 1st DC

Round 4: Ch 2, *DC2, DC in each of next 2 stitches, repeat
from * around (again alternate colors offset by 1). Sl to top of 1st
DC (48)
Round 5: Ch2, * DC2, DC in each of next 3 stitches, repeat
from * around (again alternate colors offset by 1). Sl to top of 1st
DC (60)
Round 6: Ch2, * DC2, DC in each of next 4 stitches, repeat
from * around (again alternate colors offset by 1). Sl to top of 1st
DC (72)
Round 7: Ch2, * DC2, DC in each of next 5 stitches, repeat
from * around (again alternate colors offset by 1). Sl to top of 1st
DC (84)
Round 8: using both colors together ch 1, 1 sc in each stitch
all the way around, (84), Sl to top of first sc (add loop if desired, see below)
fasten off and sew in ends.
Optional Loop: After Sl in last round chain12 and fasten
back to same stitch with a sl to form loop.
