Bucket Of Coal

I made this as a fun toy for my cats, but it would be suitable for kids as well, just don't put in the catnip.

Printable Version available on My Ravelry Account

Materials:
·       Less than 1 ball of red cotton yarn, less than one ball of white cotton yarn less than 1 ball of Black
·       Polyfiber fill
·       F Hook (3.75 mm)
·       G Hook (4.25 mm)
·       Yarn needle and scissors
Stitches/Abbreviations:
·       Chain: Ch
·       Single Crochet: SC
·       Slip stitch: SL
·       2 single crochet in 1 stitch (SC2)
·       Crab stitch: sc worked left to right instead of left to right

Notes:
·       Ch  at beginning of round does not count as a stitch;
For Bucket
·       Carry the color not in use through the work, it will be on the back and not really visible
·       Change colors in rounds by picking up the carried color on the last yarn over of the stitch before the new color start (see plenty of videos on color changes mid-row on YouTube). See photos below.
·       Stitch counts at end of each round in parentheses
·       To get swirl pattern the colors should be offset by 1 (see chart photo).

For coal (large): length = about 2.25 inches, 4 rows = about 1 inch.
